Janice Chapman, singer, teacher, author and researcher was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for “service to music as an operatic singer, and teacher of voice, and as a contributor to research into human sound production and vocal health”. In 2010 she was elected a Fellow of the Guildhall School.

Janice enjoyed a career as a principal soprano with many opera companies before turning towards teaching, research and writing. She was an original member of the founding committee of the Voice Research Society which became the British Voice Association, and served both as its Chair for five years and on Council for many years. Janice teaches in private practice with many clients singing at international level, and is a member of staff at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. She is often invited to present her work at international meetings and symposia, and is dedicated to the multi-disciplinary approach to voice in all its aspects. 

Janice is the author of bestseller, “Singing and Teaching Singing – A Holistic Approach to Classical Voice”, published in 2006 by Plural Publishing (San Diego, Oxford, Brisbane) now in its third edition.
