Gerhard Förster Germany

Dr. med. Gerhard Förster is consultant / general ORL surgeon at the ENT department of SRH Wald-Klinikum Gera, Germany with a special interest in laryngology. He is part of the developmental team of the laryngeal pacemaker under his chief Andreas Müller, since 2006 in collaboration with Med-El, Innsbruck, Austria. He is active in the field of laryngeal electromyography since 2008, and member of the ELS working group for neurolaryngology.

He graduated from medical school in 1999 in Magdeburg, Germany, was resident at the ENT department of Friedrich Schiller University in Jena from 1999 until 2004 and works in Gera since 2005 as registrar and since 2012 as consultant. His medical thesis was on Schwann cell augmented nerve regeneration in sciatic nerves of rats, 2002 in Magdeburg.
