Professor Christian Betz is the Vice Chair of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery at Tübingen University Hospital. He is subspecialized in laryngologic surgery, head & neck surgery and rhinologic surgery. Following Medical School at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, he pursued his career at the ENT-department of Munich University Hospital from 2000 until 2017 (with a one-year fellowship each at University College London Hospital and at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia), before moving to Tübingen.

On a scientific level, he has published 93 Medline-listed, peer-reviewed scientific publications and several book chapters. His scientific focus is on early cancer detection in the upper aerodigestive tract using optical methods, and he has thus been heading the Head & Neck Optical Diagnostic Society from 2014 until 2016.
