Declan Costello is a consultant ENT surgeon specialising in voice disorders. He was appointed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham in 2010. Before studying medicine, Mr Costello undertook a music degree at St John’s College, Cambridge. He currently runs a tertiary laryngology service including specific multidisciplinary clinics for singers. He also leads the neurolaryngology (Botox) clinic and has a particular interest in the management of vocal cord paralysis – he runs a weekly clinic performing vocal cord medialisation injections under local anaesthetic. He is the Secretary of the British Laryngological Association and has previously sat on the Council of the British Voice Association.
